Lonely Tree — Old Growth in Peril at 3–Creeks
A documentary that sheds light on outdated government policy being met head-on with grassroots citizen action. Between these two forces runs a ribbon of native, old-growth Oregon White Oaks at the 3–Creeks Natural Area. Wildlife and creeks nurtured by the Native Oaks are under siege by planned urban growth of Clackamas Town Center, an upscale mall outside of Portland, OR.
The 200+year-old trees stand in the way of a 20-year-old auto-centric development policy that calls for road and parking lot expansion at the expense of the nearby natural area. Voices begin to be heard, action taken. Plans and policy challenged. Straw Bale Films proudly presents — Lonely Tree.
